In this paper, a new type of spherical activated carbon material was studied. Firstly, a new type of spherical formed activated carbon with inorganic cementitious materials was made by using powder activated carbon as main raw materials and inorganic cementitious materials as gelling agent; Using nano-silver antibacterial agents and pore-forming agent, And then using a special the cladding process at the surface of the spherical activated carbon particles to form an antibacterial function and breathable shell structure. The influences of the different antibacterial agent shell type and quantity to be added to sample the effect on the sterilization properties of sample was discussed; and the performance of adsorption effect was improved by adding the different pore-forming agent type and quantity to be added to the sample. Choose E. coli and sarcina target object, use the method of halo to test the antibacterial properties of the sample; Using iodine adsorption value, formaldehyde and benzene adsorption capacity to evaluate the adsorption capacity of the sample; the field emission scanning electron microscopy (FSEM) were used to characterize the microstructures of materials, and the recycling experiment was also investigated preliminarily.The experimental results show that the cementitious of the spherical activated carbon which including 20 wt% cement clinker were very good, and the other 80 wt% activated carbon content can ensure that the sample’s adsorption ability; Gray cement or white cement as a binding agent, guarantee the housing containing silver antimicrobial agent and pore-forming agent can be wrapped firmly and uniformity; Introduce a pore-forming agent such as PVA, may improve the permeability of the shell appropriate ly.Derived by the comparing experiment, the bactericidal effect of silver shell structure of activated carbon material which were added in the shell of 3.25 wt% nano-silver antibacterial agents is perfect, the antibacterial experiments show, the diameter of material on E. coli and sarcina of bacteriostatic ring were 15.24 mm and 16.16 mm, the radius of ball sample was 2.50 mm, the E. coli bacteriostatic bandwidth is 5.12 mm, and the sarcina bacteriostatic bandwidth is 5.58 mm can be calculated; the shell material was prepared by using the pore-forming agent by adding 2.5 wt% of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) has best effect on the adsorption performance.The materials for saturated adsorption experiment were tested, the measured iodine adsorption is 716.54 mg/g, the formaldehyde adsorption is 378.53 mg/g and the benzene adsorption is 356.2 mg/g; Recycling test results preliminary show that the optimal sample formaldehyde and benzene adsorption rate is still strong after 20 cycles of absorption and desorption, the sample can be recycled and the sample has much better recycling effect on benzene than formaldehyde.The SEM observation analysis results show that the cement hydration products and activated carbon distribute independently, do not affect activated carbon adsorption performance, shell and spherical activated carbon combind closely, the average shell thickness is 100μm, the thiner the shell of matrix spherical activated carbon is, the less effect on spherical activated carbon adsorption, the cement of shell can effectively bond adsorption effect does, the cement of shell can effectively bond the antibacterial agent and pore-forming agent in the matrix spherical activated carbon outside surface.
