When earthquake occurs, the fault movement is one of the main causes of damages to buried pipelines. There is no scholar has taken resistance study for buried pipelines crossing fault based on reliability theory at present. According to this situation, the seismic reliability analysis has been conducted for buried pipeline by permissible length changes and permissible compressive strain,the main study contents as following given below:(2) The seismic reliability analysis for buried pipelines crossing fault has been proceeded by using JC method and Monte-Carlo method based on permissible length changes. The structural performance function could be established according to the seismic calculation formula for buried pipelines crossing fault given by s pecification; Based on t he Linear expansion to nonlinear function between seismic intensity and fault movement, the probability of fault movement statistical parameters could be derived and the probability distribution function could be tested conform to generalized extreme value distribution by using distribution fit test; The effect of seismic reliability index for buried pipelines crossing fault has been separately studied on different buried pipelines with fault crossing angle, different buried depth and different friction coefficient between buried pipelines and soil; JC method and Monte-Carlo method has been used for seismic reliability analysis of buried pipelines crossing fault under the same condition.(3) The seismic reliability analysis for buried pipelines crossing fault has been proceeded by using JC method and Monte-Carlo method based on permissible compressive strain. The solid analysis model of buried pipelines crossing fault has been established through nonlinear finite element analysis software, 100 groups of fault movement has been randomly generated according to the probability of fault movement statistical parameters, the dynamic responses of buried pipelines crossing fault has been studied under different fault movements. 100 groups response-sample has been analyzed statistically, the probability statistical parameters of dynamic responses to buried pipelines crossing fault under seismic excitation could be concluded, then programming the reliability calculation procedure through MATLAB, the seismic reliability has been solved by using Monte-Carlo method.(4) The earthquake-induced sandy soil liquefaction and seismic wave has been taken into consideration, the seismic reliability analysis of buried pipelines crossing fault has been separately proceeded.
