Metamaterial has opened up a new electromagnetic field and sound field way by man-mading micro-structure since the end of 20 th century. These materials with specific structure, have unusual physical characteristics, which are mainly shown in manipulating the wave in a flexible way. An additional advantage of the metamaterials is the sub-wavelength periodic structures relative to conventional materials. The metamaterials provide a feasibility materials for designing micro-structure and paranormal devices.According to the coordinate transformation theory, this paper first introduces a near infrared microcoupler, and the relation between coupling property and operating wavelength, electromagnetic parameters, and the size of coupler was described in detail. Research has shown that the microcoupler can realize a maximal transmittivity of 100% by choosing the right elementary units for the microcoupler. Also, the coupler can satisfy different frequency by adjusting the structure size.Secondly, this paper theoretically presents an acoustical focusing lens. After analyzing transmission characteristic of the sound field transmitting in the phased arrays, the acoustical focusing lens can get well focused by choosing appropriate phase control unit. Simulation results show that the gain value of 3.29 dB could be obtained operating at 4167 Hz. Our design can help to reduce the size of the acoustic lens and meet different requirement for acoustic focusing.Finally, based on the effective medium theory, an acoustical prism which can realize unidirectional negative refraction is presented theoretically and experimentally in this paper. Experimental results show that the unidirectional negative refraction can be observed in the 10KHz~20KHz frequency range. The realization of unidirectional negative refraction over a broad frequency band could be potentially significant in various fields such as ultrasonic treatment and medical imaging.
