3D woven composite material is a kind of advanced fiber-reinforced composite material which composited by 3D woven fabrics as reinforcement and resin, ceramic, etc. as matrix, the material’s integrated fiber-reinforced structure gives itself excellent inter-layer shear strength, impact damage resistance, suitable toughness, higher specific strength and specific modulus, and it also has characteristics of light weight, stiffness, high strength, corrosion resistance, high temperature resisting etc. 3D woven composite material has a broad applications in aerospace, transportation, automotive, shipbuilding, sporting goods and health fields. As textile structure composite material performs, 3D woven fabrics have light weight, good integrity and profiling, excellent mechanical properties and many other advantages, however, the 3D woven fabrics’ weaving technology is difficult with high cost and low output, sometimes could not meet the needs of the structure very well, so how to weave integral woven fabrics with 3D interwoven structure has become an important topic recently in the field of composite materials research.3D woven fabric is based on a two-dimensional woven fabric by increasing the thickness of the fabric, in the thickness direction of the fabric, there are some warp or weft yarns inserted in each of the three directions of space, interwoven to be a certain geometric shape and forming a space net structure, which is known as the 3D structure. Same as the 2D woven fabric, the 3D woven fabric also has a variety of structures, and naturally the composite material performs with different structures have very different performances. With 3D woven composite materials’ increasingly wide application, the further study of its Microstructure is particularly important, because the excellent performance of 3D woven composite is closely related with the fabric’s microstructure. 3D woven fabric can be classified into 3D solid woven fabric, 3D hollow woven fabric, 3D shell fabric and 3D nodal woven fabric according to the geometry structure. The research objects of this subject are 3D orthogonal solid woven fabrics and angle-interlock solid woven fabrics, which are currently the most widely used 3D woven fabrics.Currently, there were only research on construction and analysis of some 3D woven fabric’s geometry structure model, yet there was few research or information about the analysis of 3D woven fabric’s weavability. This paper analyzed the 3D orthogonal solid woven fabric and 3D angle-interlock solid woven fabric’s weavability, and the requirements of Y100 S semi-automatic sample loom’s each parts and their influence on fabric’s weavability when weaving multi-layered fabric, developed transformation plan of semi-automatic sample loom, made transformed model of each components and wove some different layers 3D orthogonal solid woven fabrics and angle-interlock solid woven fabrics. Establishing geometry structure models of 3D orthogonal solid woven fabric and 3D angle-interlock solid woven fabric, comparing with the fabric’s actual structure and making some modifications to obtain the final models. Finding parameters that affect the fabric’s weaving, like yarn structure, weave shrinkage, fabric structure, and fabric tightness based on the modified models. Getting the relevant fabrics’ mathematical relationship in warp, weft and longitudinal direction of the fabric through the parameters of the fabric’ geometry structure models. Weaving a series of different layers 3D solid woven fabrics, measuring there fiber volume fraction, and comparing with the geometry structure models’ volume fraction, to verify the accuracy of the geometry structure models and the parameters’ mathematical relationship. This research made the predecessors’ studies on 3D woven fabric further, and also built the preliminary foundation of 3D woven fabric’s weavability analysis theoretical system. Furthermore, through the analysis of 3D solid woven fabric’s weavability, studying the parameters’ effect on fabric’s weavability in the weaving process, building the fabric’s weavability structure model. Research results can give the designers and weavers theoretical guidance and technical reference on 3D solid woven fabric weaving,such as raising the3 D woven fabric’s weavability, shortening the production cycle, eliminating the hidden troubles.
