Today, we live in a society, the researchers found that Ti O2 is the most widely used semiconductor catalyst, but it can only react under uv-irradiation, low utilization efficiency of sunlight, in order to solve this problem, researchers began to look for new kind of visible light catalyst. Bismuth vanadate forbidden band width is 2.4 e V, its absorption edge can be extended to about 520 nm. Bismuth vanadate appearance color is orange, can be used as visible light response of ideal photocatalytic materials. The preparation method of bismuth vanadate has high temperature solid instead should method, hydrothermal synthesis method, chemical precipitation, etc.By hydrothermal synthesis method to Bi(NO3) 3 · 5H2 O as source of bismuth, Na VO3 for vanadium source and surfactant CTAB as template agent, preparation of bismuth vanadate photocatalytic materials, the preparation of Bi VO4 by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope(SEM) and other methods for synthesis of bismuth vanadate samples were characterized by, with rhodamine B as catalytic Jing Jiejing, explore the bismuth vanadate in visible light photocatalytic activity performance. By reaction temperature, reaction time and dosage of surface active agent on the synthesis of nano- bismuth vanadate crystal type and morphology of the impact. And the change of photocatalytic reaction conditions(the adding dosage of surface active agent and temperature change of the factor) explores the catalyst activity of visible light catalytic degradation of rhodamine B. And the photocatalytic mechanism to carry on the simple discussion. The experimental results show that the hydrothermal synthesis method, CTAB as surfactant, the ratio of reactants is Bi: V: CTAB =1:1:1, hot water temperature is 180 ℃, under the condition of hot water for 24 hours can crystallize good Bi VO4 sheet-shape grains is prepared. Under the condition of the preparation of the sample has the best photocatalytic properties. And through to the Bi VO4 photocatalytic mechanism discussion, the bismuth vanadate photocatalytic materials research and development will improve the utilization rate of solar energy in the governance environment pollution and new energy development and utilization, etc, it has practical application value.
