Alkylpolyglucosides is a kind of surfactant which is environment-friendly and has excellent performance in emulsification, It can be used as emulsification in oil-in-water drilling fluid. Due to the environment-friendly performance, alkylpolyglucoside is a surfactant that has great prospect in the furrure. This article synthesizes and valuates the performance of the alkylpolyglucoside with different carbon chains, and select the most optimal to prepare oil-in-water drilling fluid with excellent performance. The experiment synthesizes the different alkylpolyglucoside through indirect method and studies the optimum reaction conditions: first step, the mole ratio of butanol and the glucose is 6:1; the catalyzer is 1% mixture of two p-Toluenesulfonic acid and one concentrated sulphuric acid; the second step, the mole ratio of aliphatic alcohol and glucose is 2:1. The reaction times of the first step and second step are 2h and 2.5h. There is 35% to 40% aliphatic alcohol in the end product, it has the optimal effect of emulsification and stability emulsion. And compound a emulsifier with dodecyl glucoside and span-20 by the mass ratio of 7:3.The formula of oil-in-water drilling fluid is that 60% White Oil and 40% water as the base fluid, and have 3% emulsifier and 0.5% HEC as increase viscosity agent and 0.3% HPS as filtrate loss agent. This oil-in-water drilling fluid has capacity at 120℃ and has excellent performance when polluted by clay soil, oil and mineral salt.
