Traditional oil-based drilling fluid uses organophilic clay as the main treatment agent.With the developing of exploration,oil-based drilling fluid needs to have a new development to meet the requirements.Clay-free oil-base drilling fluid,as a new type of oil-base drilling fluid system,can satisfy the need of special structure well drilling formation,and have outstanding performance.In this topic,a series of additives were evaluated.Through the determination of water activity and base oil,as well as the optimization of emulsifier,structure,fluid loss agent,we get a basic formula of clay-free water-in-oil emulsion drilling fluid system.The performance of basic formula of clay-free drilling fluid is evaluated.The experimental results show that the system has good temperature resistance property,ageing resistance property,contamination resistance property,emulsion stability with good compatibility,lubrication performance,rheological property of high temperature and high pressure.On-site experiment formulation and solution are made,including the fluid amount and recommended formula,risk analysis,etc.Overall field application effect of drilling fluid are analyzed,and it is concluded that the drilling fluid has stable performance and flow pattern controllability is strong,high temperature and high pressure filtration volume is low.
