As a kind of advanced composite material, Carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) shows its great advantage in the material properties, its special structure creats low density, high strength, corrosion resistance and some other excellent performances. However, these characteristics also leads to the difficulty of its processing. This article has done the research based on CFRP sabot parts deep hole alveolar machining.Firstly, doing the research of the CFRP processing mechanism and the cutting tool material, formulate the process route and design the related equipment according to the shape features of sabot parts. Doing the analysis of the alveolar processing difficulties from material properties, tools, and other aspects, propose processing method and the used tools.Secondly,through the deep hole boring experiment, I found that the cutting force increases with the increase of the cut depth and feed rate. Within the scope of study, as the cutting speed increases,the tangential force increases and then decreases. During the alveolar cutting process, within the research scope of cutting parameters, as the cutting speed and feed rate increases, the cutting forces in three directions increase. Getting the cutting parameter when the cutting force is minimum. By processing the data, getting the fitting formula of three direction cutting forces with cutting speed and feed rate, it is helpful to predict the cutting force under different cutting parameters and it can provide a theoretical guidance. It can be found that the cutting force of PCD tool is less than the hard alloy tool cutting force by comparing the experiment results, the cutting force reduces by 24.03% on average.Finally, analyzing the effects of different tool structures and cutting schemes on cutting force. Using a small forming tool and put forward two alveolar processing tool path, reducing the cutting force of the alveolar process.Analyzing the effects of different tool structures and cutting scheme on cutting force and processing quality. Using small cutting edge tool can effectively reduce the cutting force. By comparing the experiment result, the alveolar surface machining quality of large forming cutter is the best, small forming cutter loop processing quality is second, there is a small amount of burr and knife traces on the alveolar surface, small forming cutter segmental processing quality is the worst, it can produce significant knife traces. Using low feed rate can reduce the tool vibration and improve the processing quality of the alveolar surface.
