Much attention has been paid on the development of fluorescence probes due to their high selectivity, high sensitivity, and real-time monitoring, etc.2-(2’-hydroxyphenyl) benzothiazole does have excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) effect. It has the following advantages:high fluorescent quantum yield, large Stokes shift and significant photostability so that it has been applied widely in designing fluorescence probes. In this paper, fluorescent probes based on 2-(2’-hydroxyphenyl) benzothiazole derivatives with ESIPT effect were synthesized. The main resarch work is as follows:(1) We developed a new approach that to detect HbS, which combines fast nucleophilic addition of H2S to an aldehyde group and the subsequent intramolecular thiolysized of dinitrophenyl ether. Based on the above method, we have synthesized probe 2-1 and probe 2-2 for H2S. Both of them are based on 2-(2’-hydroxyphenyl) benzothiazole derivatives as fluorophore and 1-fluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene as the reaction site. By comparing time-consuming and changes of optical properties of these two probes while detecting HS", we found that probe 2-2 has the following advantages:high selectivity and sensitivity, rapid response (< 5 min), and was also able to detect H2S in living HeLa cells.etc. We believe that this approach could aid the design of future H2S probes for efficient and effective detection of H2S.(2) We synthesized a new promising fluorescent probes 3-1 for HSO3- based on 2-(2’-hydroxyphenyl) benzothiazole. This probe was visible light excitable and was found to show rapid response, high selectivity and sensitivity for bisulfite/sulfite anions with significant dual colorimetric and ratiometric fluorescent signal changes in aqueous solution under mild conditions. In addition, the applications of this probe for bisulfite/sulfite detection in real food samples and serum samples were all successfully investigated.
