Welding performance is the important part of electrode, there is a certain gap between domestic and foreign electrode. The major reason is the standards about welding performance is not specific, perfect and quantitative, it always based on experience. The paper studied the test method, evaluated method and required standard of welding performance of electrode. Selected the appearance of welding, slag detachability, spatter ratioand arc stability as the important part of welding performance.Selected domestic and foreign electrode which has been used in the nuclear power station equipment to test, put forward the acceptance standard of welding performance according to the test result, preliminary complete welding usability evaluation system of electrode.The test and evaluated method of appearance of welding is established, the appearance of welding has been quantitative assessed based on practicle experience with the use of FAHP and weighted mean method. A program based on Visual Basic has been wrote, it cangreatly reduce the manual workload, improve the work efficiency. The stability of test process had been studied, it had been proved that the fluctuation of test process is small and the repeatability of test result is good. Selected domestic and foreign electrode which has been used in the nuclear power station equipment to test, put forward the acceptance standard of appearance of welding according to the test result.The influence of deposited ratio, groove angle, plate thickness, plate length and on slag detachability had been studied. The best test conditions and invalid judging conditions had been proposed. The stability of test process had been studied, it had been proved that the fluctuation of test process is small and the repeatability of test result is good. Selected domestic and foreign electrode which has been used in the nuclear power station equipment to test, put forward the acceptance standard of slag detachability according to the test result.The cautions of welding spatter test has been described in detail, it can extremely reduce the error of testing process.
