It uses a Programmable embedded in the system of Machine tool logic Controller(Programmable Machine Controller, PMC). Nc machine tool control software(often referred to as PMC program) through a dedicated FANUC LADDER-Ⅲ application development software development and design.With respect to the independent PLC, embedded PMC has the merits as more compact structure, more targeted, more suitable for CNC machine control.The subject study the Ningbo Haitian Precision Corporation, is GLU series vertical-horizontal automatic tool changer, and the control core is FANUC CNC systems PMC, This paper will analyze the vertical-horizontal automatic tool changer mechanical structure, calculate the I/O points, allocate the I/O terminals, design the electrical control system, gives electrical wiring diagram. Control program will be made by FANUC LADDER-Ⅲsoftware. Introduces a method that uses the PMC ladder and Macro program to diagnose the problem and apply it to the magazine common fault diagnosis.The FANUC PMC is powerful and has adequate resources, the tool control system which made by it has the merits as simple structure, high efficiency and flexibility, this method is more promotable for domestic 5-face machine centre industry.
