In shot blasting dust removal system, cyclone separator is used in general as a secondary cyclone dust, it plays an important role in the whole system in shot blasting machine, which directly affects the separation efficiency of the entire dust removal system. However cyclone separator often increase energy consumption and dust inefficiencies because of its size and unreasonable structure design. Increasingly stringent emission standards for the status quo of smoke, dust removal system for blasting machine requirements are also increasing, with the lowest economic cost and minimum volume of space for maximum collection efficiency is the trend of shot blasting dust removal system.In this paper, Fluent software is used for cyclone separator used for shot blasting machine flow for simulation. Based on the insight understanding of the structure and composition of cyclone manufacturing technology, depthly studying the gas-solid flow field, the particulate phase trajectory, the separation efficiency, velocity field and pressure field distribution of cyclone separator used for shot blasting machine.First division high quality structured grid with ICEM, with RNG k?? model, using the PRESTO pressure interpolation scheme and QUICK interpolation format for simulation. Cyclones used for shot blasting machine of gas-solid two-phase flow analysis, using discrete stochastic model of cyclone used for shot blasting machine with solid particles inside the simulation. After analysis found the duct design defects of cyclone used for shot blasting machine, shape and location of the hole bottom unicom unreasonable distribution, there is dust inside the vortex, such as short-circuit current and the secondary flow phenomena. On this basis, then the original cyclone structural optimization, simulation again, shot blasting machine for cyclone performance improvements were compared before and after the simulation, results show that the improvement of improved cyclone over the previous cyclone of collection efficiency has been greatly improved, we can see that the study of the flow of cyclone with numerical simulation has important reference value for the design and optimization of the structure of the cyclone.
