Along with the metal manganese industry development and expansion of production capacity, it brought the production of sewage and waste. Due to the lackness of controlling measures, it came about great harm to the environment, especially in karst area; the groundwater contamination is particularly problematic. The study area lies in the Gaotian town in Xiushan city. The residue field ran by the end of2006, and its capacity of720,000m3. It has been used250,000m3. The designed year slagging is7×106-8×106t each year and the slagging designed water content is less than25%. Karst development zone in the region, with the rapid increase of the slag heap, the load increased, the residue field the impermeable capacity can not be guaranteed. Resulting in leakage, the leakage had a definite impact on groundwater. Therefore, this paper summarizes the results of previous studies based on the residue field, for example, theregional karst development and distribution characteristics, and the residue field of leakage on the groundwater system through research, obtained the following understanding:(1) This paper first overview the study status on present in the leakage field of karst at home and abroad, and made a summary on the impact of the karst area leakage and the corresponding measures for the control of the research progress according to the domestic and foreign scholars. This laid a theoretical foundation for the chapters of the thesis behind the residue field leakage progress.(2) Based on the field hydrogeologic investigation and laboratory test analysis, the author made a detailed analysis and study on the conditions and factors that influence the leakage of the residue field such as the location of atudy area, topography, geological structure, meteorology and hydrology, lithology, karst development and distribution characteristics.then summarizes the distribution characteristics of the regional hydrogeological conditions of the study area and karst development, and provides a basis for leakage analysis of the redidue field.(3) Combining the engineering geological conditions, using the hydrogeological drilling, electrical logging method, high density electrical measurements as well as a meens of tracer tests, the author obtained the main type and manner of the field leakage; according to the change in water quality analysis and the analysis of water injectiontest, the author made the partition on the strength of the seepage of the residue field, the partition is the residue field with the medium leakage district(district Ⅱ) and residue field leakage weak areas(district III);on the basis of both of the former, it obtained the slag leakage pathways and direction, using the mathematical formula estimated the leakage, macro analysis, the last residue field leakage of the manganese slag yard there are leakage. From the curremt situation, the failure to take appropriate seepage control measures, leakage may be exacerbated, and have a greater impact.(4) The author made a predictive analysis from the perspective of the numerical simulaition of the impact on the groundwater that brought by the leakage of the residue field, and then conducted a comprehensive evaluation on the pollution of the groundwater from pollution sources and pollution patway, and draw that the groundwater has been polluted to varying degrees, and the corresponding control measures need to be taken.(5) According to the development and distribution characteristics of the karst and the analysis results of the impact on the groundwater brought by leakage of the residue field, the author made a scientific prediction of its harmful consequences and gave the recommendation of the preventive measures.
