Offshore oil platform power grid interlink is the result reflects with the development of China’s microgrid technology, it is a special form of micro-grid system islanding operation. Offshore oil platforms far from land, usually generate power independently. In this mode coupled with the extensive power management not only reduces the security of the power system also increases the operating costs of the system. This paper summarized and formed a group of the basic theory and basic method for the oil offshore electricity network according to the characteristics of offshore oil platform power system, it has universal applicability. In order to improve the management of power system, this paper combined with the concept of the smart grid based on the results of the EMS’s application, then discusses the design method of MES.Energy Management System (EMS) is the embodiment of modern detection technology, control theory, computer technology, communications and other subjects. This system have become more widely used in the power system of land,The results fully confirmed the reliability of EMS system. Therefore, the design of the system is also introduced offshore oilfields networking systems in this paper. In the system of islanded microgrid, the EMS is the automatic control center of active reactive power distribution, power scheduling, priority trip, load rejection and closing or opening, it improved the intelligence level of the power grid.EMS design is divided into two parts that hardware design and software design, in terms of hardware design we using the Rockwell AB1756series products. In the aspect of software design, include communication configuration, motor control programming, Case formulation and so on. The introduction of EMS did not completely abandon the gas turbine generator control panel, but a way to manually switch operation. Ethernet is applied in communication between the EMS and gas turbine generator control system, when the EMS toggle button is pressed, the control of gas turbine generator is completely taken over by the EMS system. Finally, this paper discusses the debugging methods of the network, and take Bo xi oilfield group, for example, shows the operation and the user interface of the EMS. With the accomplish of power grid interlink in Sui zhong oilfields and Bo xi oilfields, it fully confirms the correctness of the power grid interlink theory and the EMS design methods.
