Braided river reservoir, one of the most common reservoirs, are widely found in the major oil fields all over the world. Recently, fluvial deposits are the main target reservoirs during the oil fields exploration and development processes, and the braided river deposits are widespread in the fluvial deposits, which are characterized by the highly heterogeneous reservoir properties. Therefore, the study of the heterogeneous, sandbody structures and flow mechanics has significant effect on the reservoir development. The studies of the braided river reservoirs in modeling, flow mechanics, simulation and well tests are still in the primary stage, which can’t completely afford the requirements to develop the reservoirs more effectively. Therefore, it will be more efficient to comprise all the multi-disciplinary research works for more accurate geological modeling, well tests modeling and interpretations. The Field A belongs to braided river reservoirs, thus, the Field A acts as the real case to be studied in this paper. It will combine the advanced research results of geosciences, well test, numerical simulation and reservoir engineering to build the fine geological model by the means of commercial software. On the basis of the geological model, we will build more accurate geological modeling, well tests modeling and offer the corresponding interpretations, meanwhile, applying the numerical simulation to discuss the pressure response in different deposition positions, and processing the sensitive studies of main parameters. The log-log curve of pressure derivative would appear a "linear flow" stage, due to the geological-mobility reduction of the braided reservoirs, which can be easily confused with other linear flow response, e.g., faults boundary, artificial fractures etc.. Therefore, based on the Field A case, we will study the pressure derivative response of different deposition parts and carry out the accurate data analysis, which can offer, not only to Field A but also the similar reservoirs, data supports for reliable well test interpretations. The works of this paper means a lot to the real well test work in fields.
