With the development of papermaking, textile, leather, rubber, printing and dyeing industry, the emissions of waste water containing high concentrations of toxic carcinogenic dyes. Methylene blue, which is a kind of low concentration can distinguish dye, has great pollutant emissions, so effective measures must be taken to reduce its concentration in the wastewater. Because of low cost, simple design, easy operation and low sensitivity of toxicant, adsorption method become the most effective way to remove organic matter from aqueous solution. Mesoporous materials, account of its unique structure, is becoming a hot spot of research at home and abroad. Especially the SBA- 15, because of its amphiphilic block copolymer as a template, uniform two-dimensional six-party pore structure and large aperture, as a base in the process of adsorption of dye molecules has important research significance.This experiment used trimethylbenzene to enlarge the mesopore size, then carbon-containing SBA-15 material were sysnthisis by subsequent carbonization and oxidization, respectively. The oxygen-functionalized CST-ox material with larger mesopores has been turned to be potential adsorbents towards methylene blue. Especially, the adsorption equilibrium time was significantly reduced from 60 min to 20 min, and the maximum adsorption capacity was increased from 379 mg/L to 420 mg/L, for which would associated with the larger pore size.In addition, due to the surface of SBA-15 contains a lot of hydroxyl groups, as a result,modified the original SBA-15, make its containing carboxyl and amino functional groups at the same time, for the NH2-SBA15-ox, used for adsorption of methylene blue. The test showed that adsorption equilibrium quantity, by the original SBA-15 is 180 min, by oxidation of carbide CS-ox, is 60 min, to the study of the synthesis of NH2-SBA15-ox, achieve balance in a 10 min. At the same time, the maximum adsorption capacity, NH2-SBA15-ox is 445 mg/g,This is a obvious improvement. In addition, we using a variety of characterization methods for the preparation of process stages;By modifying original platelet SBA-15, CST-ox, and the bi-functional NH2-SBA15-ox,use these material in adsorption, the results shows it have a better behavior in adsorption. At the same time, because of its unique mesoporous structure, it has a broad application prospect in the treatment of industrial wastewater and dye adsorption.
