Two mesogenic units are prepared by terephthalic acid, thionyl chloride, 1,4-butanediol and hydroquinone, and their structures are characterized. The synthetic process conditions are optimized. The mesogenic units react respectively with 1,4-Phenylene diisocyanate and 3,3’-(1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane-1,3-diyl)bispropyl-amine for preparationing phenolic ester silicone-containing polyurethane liquid crystal polymers and alcohol ester silicone-containing polyurethane liquid crystal polymers. The two liquid crystal polymers(LCP) are characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), thermal gravimetric analysis(TG-DSC), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM/EDS). The polarity of the LCPs as chromatographic stationary phase is measured. The polarity of alcohol ester base silicone-containing polyurethane liquid crystal polymer is 45, and level is +3; the polarity of phenolic ester base silicone-containing polyurethane liquid crystal polymer is 64, and level is +4. The two silicone-polyurethane LCPs as stationary liquid prepare into packed column gas chromatography, aging of chromatographic column under different temperature conditions. Column efficiency is investigated by the mixture of benzene and n-hexane. Maximum operating temperature and phase transition temperature of the silicone-polyurethane LCPs are determined by thermal gravimetric analysis. The element types and proportions of the silicone-polyurethane LCPs are determined scanning electron microscope. The two silicone-polyurethane LCPs as stationary liquid prepare into packed column gas chromatography, making separation test for homologues of ester, ketone, benzene, alcohol and alkanes. The results show that: both of them have good separation effect.
