In recent years, the eutrophication made a sharp rise in the number of algae in water, which brought inconvenience to the use of water resources, it is necessary to remove the algae in the water for making full use of water resource. Air flotation is a fast and efficient solid-liquid separation method, compared with other air flotations, microbubbles produced by electrolytic are smaller, and have stronger flotation ability of tiny suspended particles, thus it is suitable for separating algae in the water.Based on the system analysis of the air flotation working mechanism of microbubbles produced by electrolytic and electro-flotation device, the algae removal of electrolysis microbubbles was studied by using the self-made electro-flotation experiment device. The main research contents and conclusions were as follows:Flotation dynamics analysis of microbubbles produced by electrolysis showed that the orthokinetic coagulation caused by liquid flow played a leading role in the coagulation; the microbubble flotation process was mainly depended on the collision adhesion process of microbubbles and flocs, and the floating rate of flocs with gas.Microbubbles produced by electrolysis had certain effect of direct separation the algae in the algae-laden water, and worked better after coagulating treatment of algae-laden water, which let the algal form dense algal residue on the water surface.The research on factors influencing the effect of algae removal showed that the key factors to influence the algae remove effect of microbubbles produced by electrolysis were current density and electrolytic time. Under certain conditions, the greater the current density and the longer the electrolytic time, the algae removal effect was better. The combination experimental study showed that the essential factor to influence the algae remove effect of electrolysis microbubbles was the electric quantity through the plate. Under certain conditions, the more electric quantity passed through the plate, the more microbubbles were produced, the better effect of algae removal.Energy consumption analysis showed that the electrolytic voltage could be effectively reduced by reducing the plate spacing or improving the electrical conductivity. In order to avoid excessive consumption of electric power, should not be too much pursuit the algae removal rate, but should set appropriate algae removal rate in the effluent water quality requirements. It helped to reduce the power consumption of sequencing batch electro bath by decreasing current density and prolonging electrolytic time.In this paper, some theories were studied, the experimental device was made and finished some experimental research. There were still many deficiencies in this paper, however, the study of microbubbles generation, the treatment of refractory water by microbubbles, the applications of microbubbles for water treatment are discussed, it has reference value for engineering application and scientific research.
