In this paper, the encapsulated Cd(SxSe1-x) pigment with SiO2 was prepared by solvothermal method, using γ-Ce2S3, TEOS, NH30H as raw materials, modificating the surface of the pigment by PVP and CTAB. Different surface treatments on the dispersion suspension of y-Ce2S3, and the proportion of different Ce and Si, coating times on the density and thickness of coating layer were discussed. The coating effects were examined by the thermal stability temperature of coated y-Ce2S3, colour change and micro structure. The coated ZrSiO4 were prepared by solvothermal method, using ZrOCl2·8 H2O as the source of zirconium, TEOS as silicon source. The effects of different pH value and reaction temperature on the whole content and morphology of ZrSiO4 were discussed, and its valuable for the further reseach of coated y-Ce2S3 by ZrSiO4.When PVP, CTAB and SDS were used as surfactant to modify the y-Ce2S3 pigment, the nonionic surfactant PVP and cationic surfactant CTAB showed certain modification effect on pigment powders. The anionic dispersant SDS, however, was invalid to the dispersion of y-Ce2S3 pigment. Furthermore, PVP was effective to disperse the pigment powders even in an alkaline environment. And when the CTAB was introduced, the Zeta potential of the suspension liquid enhanced significantly, which was obviously suitable for the modification of y-Ce2S3 pigment particles. On the one hand,the sediment was still observed when the weight percentages content was less than 10wt%, On the other hand, with the amount of dispersant SDS was more than 10wt%, no obvious dispersion effect was observed.Thus, the nonionic surfactant PVP was more suitable for the dispersion of y-Ce2S3 pigment suspension liquid, and an adding amount of 1 Owt% proved to be the best.The coated effect of y-Ce2S3 by solvothermal method was strongly affected by different Ce and Si. The generated SiO2 was not enough by the insufficient TEOS when Ce:Si=1:1. And the surface of pigments were partly coated with some SiO2 particles which were generated by TEOS when Ce:Si=1:2.The surface of pigments were completely coated with SiO2 particles when Ce:Si=1:3. The red value of coated pigments was 29.84 (the red value of uncoated pigments was 0.73) when the thermal stability temperature increased from 350℃ to 500℃.The charge on the surface of coated pigment was changed by cationic dispersant CTAB, The thickness of coated layer increased from 0.5μm tolμm by coating twice using TEOS, and red value of coated twice was 31.98 more than once coated when sintering at 550℃.What’s more, a certain amount of hollow SiO2 were generated by some TEOS when coated twice, which was very useful for coating superfine y-Ce2S3.zirconium silicate coating pigment has been the focus of the research because of its fine performance. In this paper, The influence of hydrothermal temperature, PH value on zirconium silicate powder by low temperature hydrothermal method were discussed. And the results showed that the crystallinity of zirconium silicate was fine as pH value increased. With the hydrothermal temperature rising, the morphology of zirconium silicate tend to be multilayer,which is good for preparation of zirconium silicate coated γ-Ce2S3 in the future.
