YAl1-xCrxO3red ceramic pigment has typical peroviskite structure, which has a bright and vivid color, does not contain lead and cadmium toxic elements, green and environment-friendly, in the high temperature firing process it has a strong color and maintains the stability tonal, as a new type of red ceramic pigment it has caused wide attention in recent years, In this paper YAl1-xCrxO3red ceramic pigment has been prepared by the low temperature combustion method and the solid state reaction method, and compared with each other.Influential factors of the YAl1-xCrxO3pigment formation were system researched through many tests such as XRD、DTA、SEM-EDS、CIE-L*a*b*、UV、particle size analysis and so on, which mainly include:the determination of the basic components; formation laws of Y3+-Al3+-citric acid gel; formation laws of Y3+-Al3+-urea complexation solution; the effects of calcination system and mineralizers on the crystal phase formation of pigment and color properties etc.The study has demonstrated that:Pigment with basic components for YAlo.97Cr0.03O3has the best color in the system of YAl1-xCrxO3pigment; in the low-temperature combustion reaction, using citric acid and urea respectively as fuel, the formation process of gel system have substantial difference; the PH value, water content and drying temperature have important effects on the formation of the gel; calcination system and mineralizer are major influential elements of the crystal phase formation of pigment and color properties; compared with the solid state reaction method, low-temperature combustion synthesis can be in relatively low temperature and short time firing condition get good dispersion, a color better red pigment.
