Pipes have been widely used in different fields. The most common structure of the pipe using is the tube nozzle-vessel junction structure which is mainly used to bear all kinds of pressure(offshore oil drilling platform, crane, etc) or to protect the ornaments(housing canopy, the banister along the corridor, etc). Meanwhile, many buildings such as gymnasium, airport and so on which contain metal pipes usually adopt pipes connecting mode to improve the stability of the structure or the beauty of the buildings. It can be said that where there are pipes, there must be structures of pipes connecting. Applying computer numerical control(CNC) system cutting machine to cut pipe intersecting line is an effective way to improve the cutting quality and efficiency, however, the usage rate of specialized CNCcutting machine of intersecting line is not high. Through the investigation on the pipes using, machining in the market and the existing processing machine of intersecting line, it can be concluded that at present specialized cutting machine of intersecting line for small pipes are urgently needed. According to the investigation results, this essay will work out the technical manual of the specialized cutting machine of intersecting lines for small pipes, and on this basis, CNC system of the cutting machine will be fully studied. Its main contents include:1. According to the characteristics of the cutting intersecting line of the numerical control system cutting machine with two axis linkage, different mathematical models of the intersecting lines will be built and the correctness of these mathematical models will be tested by MATLAB.2. Interpolation algorithm of the controllable step intersecting line will be put forward based on double axis simultaneous motion and be emulated by MATLAB to prove its accuracy.3. Based on the interpolation algorithm of the controllable step intersecting line, the hardware control system centered on “motion control card + PC” will be set up. Furthermore, motion control card, servo motor and drive motor, servo motor, plasma power and other hardware will be selected and the operation interface of the numerical control system will be built with the C++programming module in VS2010.4. According to the established modules and designed algorithms, experimental platform will be set up to verify the precision of the algorithms and the function of the numerical system.This essay has built the hardware control system centered on “motion control card + PC” and selected motion control card, servo motor and drive motor, servo motor, plasma power and other hardware. Then this essay has also analyzed the system requirements of the cutting machine, adopted the designing thought of modularization to design the numerical control system overall structure of the cutting machine and introduced the design principle of every module of this numerical control system in detail. And finally, a simple experimental platform will be built to test all associative functions.
