Polyaspartic ester(PAE) polyurea was hailed as the third generation polyurea, follwing the armotic and aliphatic polyurea. PAE with the advantages of curing time can be adjusted, does not require special construction equipment, excellent coatings appearance, well substrate wetting, well UV resistance performance etc. With the demand of new material and increasingly stringent environment protection policy, PAE is getting more and more attention, an increasing number of researcher focus on polyurea based on PAE and related patents gradually increase.This paper use HDI trimer and isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI) react with polyether glycol PTMG1000 and amine terminated polyether respectively, and a series of isocyanate prepolymer with different content of NCO were synthesized(the A component). A unique secondary amine PAE was synthesized from isophorone diamine(IPDA) and diethyl maleates(DEM) via Michael Addition Reaction(the R component). Mixed the A component and R component according to the suitable proportion, and then PAE polyurea was prepared. A series of polyureas with different hard segment content were prepared via adjust the content of NCO of the A component. The analysis results of FT-IR proved that polyurea based on PAE successfully synthesized. Thermal stability, solvent resistance, hardness, adhesive force, mechanical properties of the HDI and IPDI system of PAE polyurea was characterized.Take environmental friendly renewable materials epoxidized soybean oil(ESO) as modifier, ESO modified PAE was synthesized via two steps of addition reaction, the new types of addition reaction can largely shorten the reaction time. The effects of reaction time, catalytic agent, the mol ratio between epoxy group and primary amine, relationship between ESO content and viscosity on modify reaction were discussed. FT-IR, TG were employed to characterize the ESO modified PAE. The results show that: the reaction temperature of ESO modified PAE control at the temperature of 95~105℃, choose ZnCl2 as catalystic agent, the epoxy group and primary amine mol ratio is 1.25:1, the addition amount of ESO control in 6~13%(mass percentage). ESO modifie PAE not only greatly shorten the reaction time, but improved the thermal stability of the PAE system.An environmental friendly ESO modified PAE polyurea material was prepared from the Acomponent and the R component, which was synthesized by HDI trimer and PTMG1000, ESO modified PAE, respectively. Adjusting the NCO content of prepolymer, and react with 6%ESO modified PAE to form modified PAE polyurea. The studies show that: with increase of the NCO value, tensile strength, the pencil hardness, grass-transition temperature was increased, however, the the elongation at break and thermal stability were decreased. FT-IR, TG, DSC, electronic tesile testing machine were use to characterize the ESO modified PAE polyurea. The results show that, ESO modified PAE polyurea was successfully prepared, the thermal stability, adhesive force, flexibility, solvent resistance, mechanical properties of ESO modified polyurea were improved.
