With the rapid development of our industry, industrial waste gas emissions increased year by year, which resulted in the deterioration of environment,the threat to people’s health and safety and the gradual increase morbidity of cancer. Therefore, the governance of industrial waste gas allows of no delay. At present,Conventional industrial waste gas treatment methods have the disadvantages of low efficiency and secondary pollution,while plasma treatment method has been increasingly used in industrial pollution governance for its advantages of high efficiency, low cost and no secondary pollution.The subject mainly researched on the control measure and experimental system for plasma degradation of VOCs (volatile organic compounds). In order to treat the industrial waste gas, a multi-dielectric barrier discharge structure of the plasma generator was developed based on the study of the existing structure of the discharge electrode barrier medium. In consideration of the disadvantages of the electrode structure in the experiments, the structure of the discharge electrode was improved. In addition, the subject researched on the relationship between the power of plasma generator and the discharge characteristics of plasma, while the high frequency and high voltage AC power and the power frequency sine wave AC power supply circuit were designed. Finally, an experimental system was constructed in this paper to analyze the rate of plasma generator for the degradation of volatile organic compounds and particulate matter.Two sets of sensors were respectively placed in the air inlet and the air outlet of the plasma generator in the system for the VOCs concentration acquisition before and after treatment, and the data was transfer to the upper computer by data acquisition card for the experimental comparison and real-time monitoring. The structure parameters of plasma generator, namely medium material, gap spacing, and electrode area, were changed to observe their effect on the VOCs degradation rates. The experiment showed that different structure parameters of plasma generator impacted on discharge characteristics in different degrees,which result in distinctively different VOCs degradation rates. Therefore, there is certain guiding significance to optimize the structure of plasma generator.
