With the rapid development of China’s economy,we need to construct more and more infrastructures of transportation and energy domain.In recent years,with raising the railway electrification rate and opening many special railway lines of passenger transportation,China’s total length of electrified railways is close to30,000kilometers,which have been situated second in the world.Meanwhile,the length of oil and gas pipelines also grows day by day for satisfying the rising energy demand.As a result of geographical location,lots of oil and gas pipelines and electrified railways are parallel or crossed,which makes oil and gas pipelines inevitably be affected and even eroded by stray current.If we don’t handle properly, this will have serious harm.In order to ensure pipelines safely transport oil and gas,it is important to study the rail-to-pipeline affecting rule and how to lower the rail-to-pipeline affection.This thesis is based on the research of the principal of stray current corrosion on gas pipeline, utilizes documentation consulting on the stray current corrosion in China and abroad so as to obtain the understanding as well as the protection methods of stray current. Combined with the actual situation of Sichuan to east natural gas transmission project, the author carries out field test, make a detailed introduction to the detection methods and detectors of stray current in the actual production process. Besides, in the paper, comments also made on the influences of stray current on gas pipeline according to the inspection data. In addition, the author tries to eliminate the stray current corrosion of gas pipeline by the means of simulated electric drainage with an attempt to optimize the way of electric drainage of stray current, enhance the knowledge of the mechanism of stray current corrosion, and put forward treatment methods and suggestions on stray current corrosion, thus to further understand the effects of stray current corrosion on gas pipeline along the evolution of Sichuan to east natural gas transmission project.
