Considering the hazardous chemicals is very dangerous, which determines its special transportation safety requirements. In recent years, the transport accidents of hazardous chemical occur frequently. The lack of effective monitoring means during transport is one of the important reasons for hazardous goods transport accidents. In order to improve the transport security of hazardous chemicals, the terminal of hazardous chemicals transportation monitoring system has been designed and implemented in this paper. The terminal can monitor a variety of state information of hazardous chemicals and vehicles during the transportation. In this paper, the main research work are as follows:(1) After making lots of depth researches on existing monitoring technology about hazardous chemicals transportation the overall design and architecture of the terminal of hazardous chemicals transportation monitoring system have been put forward.The system platform of hardware and software have been built, including the selection of and hardware platform and the establishment of development environment using Qt/Embeded in the Linux environment.(2) The design of the sensor system and the implementation of sensor data fusion have been completed. Design of the sensor system includes driven design of sensors, reading and analysis of sensor dara and the cooperative control of sensors. In order to improve the accuracy and reliability of sensor systems, data fusion algorithm is employed to deal with multi-sensor data and assess the status of hazardous chemicals.(3) The design and implementation of the terminal of hazardous chemicals transportation monitoring system have been completed, including the design and implementation of terminal software and SQLite database, the design of the terminal software interface and the running and testing of the terminal. The design and implementation of terminal software and databases including many content. Such as the design and optimization of embedded database, the actual deployment and access of database, the design and implementation of the software and the interface of the terminal. In order to ensure the quality of the terminal, the testing of the terminal consists of functional testing, stability testing and robustness testing. The test results show that the the terminal of hazardous chemicals transportation monitoring system designed and implemented in this paper can monitor the status of hazardous chemicals and vehicle during transportation effectively. And the transportation security of hazardous chemicals have been effectively improved.
