The present report describes a chromatographic method coupled with conductive detection and amperometric detection for analysis of nitrate, ammonium, hydrazine and hydroxylamine. And this research compared ion chromatography and spectrophotometry determination of hydroxylamine. Conditions of ion chromatography, such as analytical column, eluent, flow velocity, detector and suppressor were optimized. Due to the concentration of components were different extremely in different samples of waste water, the calibration curve of nitrate, hydrazine and hydroxylamine determinate in the rage of 1.00 to 10.0 and 10.0 to 100 mg/L, respectively. The calibration curve of ammonium showed excellent linearity in the rage of 0.50 to 8.00 mg/L. The detection limits were 0.105mg/L for nitrate, 0.020mg/L for ammonium,0.017mg/L for hydrazine and 0.065 mg/L for hydroxylamine for industry waste water. The relative standard deviations of nitrate, ammonium, hydrazine and hydroxylamine were 0.80%,0.999%,2.6%,2.40%, respectively. The recovery of nitrate, ammonium, hydrazine and hydroxylamine were 96.5% to 105%,95.6% to 105%,97.35% to 104.9% and 97.0% to 105%, respectively. Spectrophotometry determination of hydroxylamine evaluated by generating data on the parameters of specificity, precision, linearity, recovery and sensitivity. Besides, the research reported gas chromatography determination of methanol, applying ion exchange resin to remove ion compounds in waste water. The method’s linear dynamic range spans 100 to 600 mg/L. the precision was better than 1.38%, the recovery was 99% to 106%, and the detection limits were 1.16mg/L for methanol.Determination of composition in the pharmaceutical synthesis producing water can use ion chromatography and gas chromatography. These two methods can meet the request which can simplify operation, save time and reduce the comprehensive cost.
