In this paper, the mechanical behavior of the TiC-particle-reinforced titanium matrix composites under different temperatures and strain rates was numerically simulated by using finite element method. Also the Johnson-cook constitutive model of TiC-particle-reinforced titanium matrix composites was modified. The correctness of the numerical method and the modified model were all verified by the comparison with the experimental results.Firstly, Based on the elasto-plastic theory of two-dimensional problem and its finite element discretization, the problem is transformed into solving nonlinear problem that solved by using the tangent stiffness method. The quasi-static program of elasto-plastic finite element were coded by FORTRAN. Moreover, combined FEM technology with micromechanics, improve the earlier two-dimensional elastic-plastic finite element program that based on the the fixed point iteration method. So that the program can be achieved the iterative process from a macro homogeneous model into a single cell model. Calculate the Static tensile mechanical properties of materials in different temperatures. And, compare the calculation results with the experiment results to verify the reliability of the finite element program.Then, the finite element model of the TiC-particle-reinforced titanium matrix composites with typical microstructure was established based on fixed point iteration method. The tensile mechanical properties of this kind of TiC-particle-reinforced titanium matrix composites under different temperatures were simulated by using the above model and improved programs. Based on the experimental data, a good agreement was obtained between the numerical predictions and the experimental results, and the feasibility of this method was verified.Finally, make efforts to promote the program. Use this program to solve the tensile mechanical properties of SiC-particle-reinforced magnesium matrix composites with different volume fractions. The results are also in good agreement with the experimental results. It’s proved that the finite element method used in the paper is reliable within a certain range.
