At present, water environmental situation is worrying, especially mineral oil pollution. Detecting mineral oil and analysing, indentifying the species rapidly and accurately, it has great significance to treat water pollution and detection water quality.Three-dimensional fluorescence spectrum technique combined with PARAFAC is a method of water quality detection. Three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy can obtain the 3D matrix which fluorescence intensity changed with excitation and emission wavelength. Using PARAFAC decomposes 3D data along three directions, can obtain excitation-emission and concentration matrix. Realize qualitative and quantitative measurement of mineral oil. But when core consistency from 50%~80%, the results of aren’t reliable. Aiming at the problem improve PARAFAC and recognition of similar oil.Adopt the pseudoinverse on traditional PARAFAC. The improved PARAFAC can contain error. Making experiment demonstrate improved PARAFAC has validity and reliability. Dissolving-10#diesel, 0#diesel, 93#gasoline, 97#gasoline, kerosene in CCl4 solvent. Establishing 12 groups samples of three component and 10 groups of four. Scanning samples obtains three-dimensional fluorescence spectra. Using improved and unimproved PARAFAC analyses 3D data, get characteristic spectra and concentrations of main components in the matrix. When core consistency is 75.3%, using PARAFAC analysis three component samples. Getting component one maximum excitation and emission wavelength is 270/360 nm, component two is 290/360 nm, component three is 300/310 nm. Improved PARAFAC gets is: 380/440 nm, 285/455 nm, 375/410 nm. The actual peak position of 97#gasoline is 380/410 nm, 0#diesel is 375/410 nm, kerosene is 285/340 nm. Compared results of improved and unimproved PARAFAC. The result of improved PARAFAC is more consistent and accurate, and recovery rate is good. The result of four components samples by improved PARAFAC is good, further proving the reliability of improved PARAFAC.
