The β-diketones are one of the most important ligands in coordination chemistry. Owing to their various structures and coordination properties, they are extensively used in the field of functional material sciences, such as photoluminescence. In this these eight(L1—L8) new bis-β-diketone ligands were designed and synthesized and their structure were characterized by 1H NMR、IR spectra and UV-Vis spectra. Two kinds of substituted benzene were used as starting materials, which were reacted with different mono- β-diketones. Three single crystals(L4,L6, L8) of bis-β-diketones were successfully obtained by evaporation of the corresponding organic solutions at room temperature. Their crystal structures were characterized by means of X-ray single-crystal diffraction. These new bis-β-diketones can be used as potential ligands in the preparation of functional lanthanide compounds in the future.
