Cloth shoes had been popular with the public in our country because of their comfort degree, softness, breath-ability and other advantages. During recent years, with the appreciation of the RMB, raw material price rising, labor cost rising and great workers’ labor intensity of manual work when manufacturing in shoe-making industry, especially cloth shoes shoe-making industry, enterprise’s benefit has been obviously decreased. In order to reduce labor cost and relieve workers’ physical load, most of the cloth shoes shoe-making enterprises in our country urgently need an upper binding-off device to replace manual labor.The new type of pneumatic convergent threading device designed in this paper is used to replace manual work to complete cloth shoes upper’s convergent threading process. Based on the research situation of shoe-making machinery at home and abroad, this paper describes traditional manufacturing process of manual cloth shoes in terms of practical application. Based on the analysis of the manual action like pulling line, threading line and crossing line etc, combining with pneumatic and mechanical design theory, this paper puts forward a new overall design of shoe upper convergent and threading device which combines the pneumatic driving with planar joint type robot threading system.With combination of the overall function requirements, it designs the mechanical structure, driving plan and control plan. This paper selects the hardware, processes experimental prototype, debugs the binding-off, threading line, stringing line and other actions and analyzes the experimental data. Finally, it further optimizes the prototype function and discusses its application prospect during production in the future.Related experiments of the prototype show that the proposed automatic pneumatic cloth shoes convergent threading device has basically met the demand of the system functional parameter, which can effectively complete expected actions like pulling line, threading line and crossing line, achieve the goal of partly replacing manual labor with preferable practical value and market application prospect.
