Applied Research For Design Of Fashionable Shoes Based On 3D Printing Technology

In the age of rapid consumerism,the traditional methods of footwear manufacturing are unable to fulfill the wide and varied aesthetical requirement of the consumers.The advent of 3D printing have revolutionized the footwear manufacturing industry.This article discusses the application of 3D printing technology in the field of design modeling of fashion footwear.The research focuses around the subject of fashion footwear,through referencing articles,research material,experiments and comparative methods.We will mention some 3D printed fashion footwear concepts,analyzing the current trend of 3D printed footwear.Based on recent survey responses on fashion footwear,these inputs were applied during design conceptualization.Computer-aided design tool was used to model the concept design,and through the use of 3D printer,manufactured the prototype model of the footwear.The 3D printed rubber model was placed in the footwear mold for reverse mold manufacturing process.Lastly,the modeled piece is combined together with the non-molded piece manually by hand.As a result,a range of footwear design series such as ‘Blade-runner',‘Meteorite',‘Neon' and ‘Latitude' design portfolios were born.3D printing have proven itself as an innovative manufacturing approach,that unbinds the restriction faced by designers due conventional footwear manufacturing techniques,and also enhances the industries design flexibility and manufacturing efficiency.
