CrSiCN films are deposited on 316 L stainless steel by using magnetron sputtering deposition. In order to choose the best parameters, the influence of Si C target power on the surface morphology and friction performance of Cr Si CN coating is studied. And the influence of load and sliding velocity on the friction coefficient and wear rate of Cr Si CN coating in seawater is also explored. Ti or Cr doped DLC are deposited on 316 L stainless steel or M2 tool steel by using the same method, and their friction properties in different lubrication environment, at different load or velocity are investigated.Experimental results show that:(1)As Si C target power increasing, the binding force of Cr Si CN coatings firstly decrease and then increase, but not significant. And the critical load remains below 10 N.The binding force of DLC coating on M2 substrate is higher than that on 316 L substrate; while the binding force of Cr-DLC coating on M2 substrate is lower than that on 316 L substrate.Ti doping can firstly increase and then decrease the binding force of Ti-DLC. The critical loads of DLC coatings are higher than that of Cr Si CN coatings.(2)With Si content increasing, the friction coefficient and wear rate of Cr Si CN coating decrease, as Si doping can improve the friction properties of Cr Si CN. M2 tool steel can play a more important role in improving the friction properties of DLC coating as compared with 316 L stainless steel.(3)In seawater, the friction coefficient and wear rate of Cr Si CN and DLC coatings are lower than those in cutting fluid, and those in simulated body fluid are highest. With increasing load, the friction coefficient and wear rate of Cr Si CN and DLC coatings also increase. With increasing sliding velocity, the friction coefficient of Cr Si CN coating decrease. But the wear rate doesn’t have obvious change, the friction coefficient and wear rate of DLC coating decrease and then increase.
