The waterborn multicolor coatings have excellent decorative property, but its application and popularization greatly hindered by stability. In this thesis, the waterborn multicolor coatings is prepared by interaction between the hectorite and the HEC, as the crosslinker and the macromolecular, to become gelation and take chang and sterically hindered.By studying the main influence factors of the high concentrations of protective glue solution,the dispersion phase and the dispersion medium,and the effect of the hectorite, HEC, pigment and filler,additives and technological parameter on the transmittivity,forming and hardness of the color granules, the stability of the multicolor coatings has been improved.The results indicate that, the high concentrations of protective glue solution(the H1 concentration is 8~10%) and the dispersion medium(the H1 concentration is 2~4%)has the best thixotropy and stability, prepared by H1 protective glue. The bleeding performance can be effectively improved by adding the high concentrations of protective glue solution amount ≤40% to the dispersion medium.By the FTIR and transmittivity analysis, we know the gelation reaction process is that, the dispersion phase can be gelation totally,as HEC is 1.1% and the high concentrations of protective glue solution is 6%. Preparing the color granules, H1 of the dispersion medium and excess HEC react to form the protective film, and it won’t be continued in storage period.The coating and the hardness of the color granules is most stable.The influence of H1 solution concentration of the dispersion phase and the dispersion medium,the pigment and filler on the hardness of the color granules is that, H1 solution concentration of the dispersion phase is 3~8%,the pigment and filler amount is 1%~6%, H1 solution concentration of the dispersion medium is ≤40%.In storage period, H1 solution amount of the dispersion medium is higher, "cuning" sooner, and it will be retard.The hardness is closed after 7d it complete.The amount of organic pigment is≤ 8%, and inorganic pigment is≤6%.The dispersion phase is prepred with dispersant 5040 and defoamer RC732.And mass ratio between the dispersion phase and the dispersion medium could be from 0.8:1~1.4:1,by controlling the hardness and the size of the color granules.It’s better for the corruption that beat the antiseptic in the suspension system.The best granulation process with different mixing blade, in the 300~700r/min shear rate, stirring about 2min. When spraying pressure control in 0.05~0.10 MPa and the spray gun far from the plate half or one meter. The waterborn multicolor coatings have reached various performance indexes in conventional performance test according to national standard. It’s stability well, and can manufacture a vivid artificial stone appearance.
