With the rapid development of the network and intelligent technology, Manufacturing networking and intellectualization is a new tendency and the important research direction of development of machine tool manufacturing industry. With the rapid development of the network and intelligent technology, the automatic identification and management of the tools and the fixtures become the basis of security to support the development of high-end CNC machine tools. As recognized as the most complex one of the workhorses, the hobbing machine tools account for 40% ~ 50% of the total tooth machine and were widely used in automobiles, ships, engineering machinery, aviation, aerospace, power generation equipment manufacturing industry and so on, which intelligent level directly reflects the state of development of the machine tool manufacturing industry and the manufacturing capability of the important industries of the national economy. The process of the CNC gear hobbing machine has the characteristics of fast rhythm, small batch and multitasking, and the frequent change of processing tasks corresponding phyletic and various tools, fixtures and the workpiece. It has a great resemblance between the tooling and workpiece when the CNC machine tools used. Therefore, based on the study of the automatic identification of the tools, fixtures and workpieces of the CNC hobbing machine tool and the complete kit of the tool, fixture and the task, this paper explores the hobbing machine tool, fixture and wokpiece management system for networked and intelligent design and application, and through the system development to verify the theory correctness and the system’s utility.Firstly, this paper analyzes the problem that exists in the tool and fixture identification and management of the CNC hobbing machine tools, and according to the analysis of the business needs, put out the overall goal and development principles of the tools, fixtures and workpicecs identification and management system of the intelligent hobbing machine tool. Based on the carding of the use processes of the tools and fixtures, a model of the tools, fixtures and workpicecs identification and management are proposed, and the architecture of the tools, fixtures and workpicecs identification system is build up.Secondly, the intelligent key technologies which support the tools, fixtures and workpicecs identification and management system of the hobbing machine are studied. According to the characteristics of a wide variety and changing frequently of the tools and fixtures, in order to normalize the management of the tools and fixtures, the flexible custom coding system is put out and the coding system model is constructed. According to the entity and use characteristics of the tools, fixtures and workpieces, this paper uses the laser marking and a two-dimensional code recognition technology and RFID identification technology for automatic identification of each tool and workpiece fixture, and structures the recognition network model. The key identification points in the redundancy-free and no blind spots identify is also put out. Applying the concept of the complete kit, the matching integration and contrast matching validation between tools, fixtures and tasks of the hobbing machine tools are researched and realized by the database technology. The control of the process is also studied.Thirdly, the paper describes and designs the function of the system in detail. The function modules are divided and their specific functions are described according to the requirements of the system. Then the function model and the architecture of tools, fixtures and workpieces terminal identification system of intelligent hobbing machine tools are also structured. This paper studies the integration between the system and other systems at last.At the last, based on the management model of the tools and fixtures, the intelligent support technology, system architecture and functional model, the design and apply of the system is realized. We achieve the development of the system through choosing the development platforms and development tools, and designing the database of the system. The system is applying to the enterprise and achieved better effects.
