Hydropower slotting machine is a great breakthrough in the traditional utilities installation, decoration and other industries. It has been widely used for high efficiency, good quality and low cost. However, the vibration and noise from the cutting blade of the slotting machine can cause great harm to human health. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze and study the vibration and noise reduction of the cutting blade. This paper presents the "Analysis on the vibration characteristic and structure optimization of the cutting blade of hydropower slotting machine" project, and the main work will be conducted as follows:â‘  The first 200 natural frequencies and the first 20 step modal shape of hydropower slotting machine blade are calculated by analyzing inherent characteristics. The vibration and noise reduction scheme is analyzed by summarizing the mode shape characteristics.â‘¡ The influence of marginal and inside slot parameters on the inherent characteristics of the slotting machine blade is analyzed. The slot parameters are optimized to reduce the noise and vibration of the slotting machine blade by improving modal distribution and avoiding energy concentration. The influence of inside slot parameters(slot length, width, slot number and positions) on the natural frequency is analyzed to study dynamic characteristics.â‘¢ The law of dynamic response is conducted by the transient dynamics simulation of common slots. The influence of the inside slot parameters on the dynamic characteristics is studied by adjusting slot parameters of the dynamic simulation. The standard of judging vibration strength by the square of the vibration velocity of each node is putted forward by processing simulation result.â‘£ The structural optimization model is established based on the previous analysis, taking the square sum of the blade node vibration velocity as the objective function, the slot parameters as design variable, the maximum amplitude and the maximum allowable stress as state variables. The way of slotting with the lowest noise and vibration is obtained by ANSYS APDL optimization design analysis. Finally, the influence of the slot parameters on the objective function is summarized by analyzing optimization results.
