Polyamide was commonly known as nylon. Polyamide have high breaking strength, excellent wear resistance, corrosion resistance and other characteristics and widely used in industrial manufacturing, medical, textile and other industries. While polyamide filaments have poor light and heat resisting in stability, which restricting its application in engineering field. Therefore, how to improve the anti-aging properties of polyamide and expanding its application areas have become a hot research field. Graphene have the perfect large π-conjugated system and the thinnest single atom thick, which makes graphene has a very good and unique optical, electrical, magnetic, mechanical and other physical properties and chemical properties. These excellent properties make graphene widely used in many fields, increase the value of materials. Adding graphene to the polymer materials has become a hot topic of current research.In this article, we prepared well dispersed graphene solution through redox method, then use graphene as sunlight-resisting functional materials and mix it with polyurethane to prepare a new functional additives. Functional polyamide filaments were produced by continuous solution dip coating technology, and the functional additives were coated the surface of polyamide filaments. The surface morphology of coated filaments were characterized by optical microscope and scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and the functional additives were confirmed and well dispersed on the fabric surface. The components of modified polyamide filament were tested and analyzed through Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR). Under laboratory UV irradiation,the strength loss rate of graphene modified polyamide filament was less than 50%, while that of the usual polyamide filament is over 85%, This prove that graphene improve the light-resistant performance of polyamide. Beside, graphene modified polyamide filaments have remarkable conduct electricity, the electrical conductivity of it as high as 10-4s/m.
