In recent years, the Municipal Solid Waste disposal problem in our country is increasingly serious, and the traditional methods of waste disposal can no longer meet today’s demands. Therefore, studying a new technique for waste disposal is necessary.Compared with other waste treatment technologies, garbage pyrolysis disposal technology can reduce the emissions of pollutants and improve the degree of energy utilization. In this paper, Based on the existing waste disposal pyrolysis technology, a garbage pyrolysis process in the flue gas atmosphere is proposed. This paper summarizes the pyrolysis mechanism of biomass waste and its influencing factors based on previous studies and an isothermal pyrolysis experiment in the tube furnace is executed with the purpose of analyzing the pyrolysis gas composition. In order to overcome the limitations of tube furnace pyrolysis experiments, a continuous pyrolysis reactor was designed to study the pyrolysis characteristics of corn straw in flue gas atmosphere.By analyzing the influence of various factors on the pyrolysis product distribution, a higher pyrolysis temperature and extending the residence time of the gas phase in the reactor are necessary in the flue gas atmosphere. In order to improve the conversion rate of carbon, a certain solids retention time should be also guaranteed.Through a tube furnace heated pyrolysis experiments, the law of cabbage gas production is contrasted in the flue gas atmosphere and N2 atmosphere. The experimental results show that reacting in the flue gas atmosphere can effectively increase the CO production. Compared with the previous experimental results, the law of pyrolysis gas production under the constant temperature is closer to the actual situation. However, because the tube furnace can’t realize continuous feeding, the analysis results of pyrolysis gas concentration of each component are far less than the actual value.The continuous pyrolysis process in flue gas atmosphere can be achieved by the application of Self-designed burner and pyrolysis reactor. By analyzing the experimental results under different operating conditions, the optimum condition is achieved when the CH4 flow is 40L/min and the speed is 0.5r/min. In the optimum case, the heat value of the pyrolysis gas is about 2MJ/m3, the pyrolysis reaction time is about 16 min, and the handling capacity is about 0.72 kg/h.
