The development of leather industry brought prosperity for the market and created wealth for China. The annual wastewater from leather industry was about 0.3% of the total emissions of industrial waste water in China, and it caused serious threat to the human health and social sustainable development. The leather industry of China has to find a way for balance between the coordinated economic development and environmental protection.
