Butadiene is a kind of very important chemical raw materials. Because of trace organometallic compounds in raw materials, the stability of the device and the quality of the product were affected in the process of butadiene extraction. In this paper, mesoporous materials were prepared as adsorbents for removing the trace organometallic compounds.In this experiment, the SBA-15 materials were prepared by sol-gel method where tetraethoxysilane was used as the silica source, and gallium nitrate hydrate, ferric nitrate hydrate, aluminium isopropoxide, titanic chloride,copper acetate hydrate, nickel acetate htdrate provided the matel source.Scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray fluorescence, fourier transform infrared spectrum, wide angle X-ray diffraction, small-angle X-ray scattering, thermo gravimetric analyzer and nitrogen adsorption desorption analysis were used to characterize the materials,and analysis of these results showed that the structure of these materials with different metal-doped were well ordered. These materials had large specific surface area, regular porosity and uniform particle size. For Ga-SBA-15,without any damage to the structure, the incorporation of gallium retained the hexagonal array of the pores. Even at high gallium loading, mesoporous gallium-silica materials were excellent ordered just like the pristine SBA-15.In addition, the data of SAXS and BET of samples proved that the wall thickness of mesoporous Ga-SBA-15 materials were decreased as the gallium loading was increased.Then, the triethyl aluminium, xylene and hydroquinone were served as the adsorbates to assess the adsorption capacity of these moseporous materials.The results showed that the Ga-SBA-15 had the best adsorption capacity of triethyl aluminium, and its dynamic adsorption effection is 83.7%. The adsorption capacity of mesoporous Ga-SBA-15 materials was improved by increasing the gallium content. Furthermore, Ga-SBA-15 also had the best adsorption capacity of xylene, while the parent SBA-15 had the best adsorption capacity of hydroquinone.Hydrophobic silica aerogel was prepared by one-step synthesis method where tetraethoxysilane was used as the silica source, trimethyl chloro silanewas used as hydrophobic agent, n-hexane was used as replacement solvent at atmospheric press condition. Using scanning electron microscopy,fourier transform infrared spectrum, wide angle X-ray diffraction, and nitrogen adsorption desorption analysis to characterize the material, analysis of these results shows that the density of this material was very low, and this material had large specific surface area, uniform particle size, well thermal stability and excellent hydrophobicity, and its contact angle is 134.14°.
