Currently, in terms of traditional production process of rare earth oxides, the efficiency is low. The loss of raw materials is big. And the environmental hazards are serious. Therefore, on the premise of contemporary green chemical industry, it is extremely urgent to seek a new, efficient, economical and environmentally friendly production process. In this paper, based on the new idea of directly making rare earth oxides from rare earth chlorides by pyrolysis, the jet injection spray pyrolysis model apparatus is designed and the experiment of water model is studied. At first, I observed the change of liquid quantity carried by changing the ratio of larger and smaller diameters of reaction apparatus, inner diameter of drainage tube, gas flow rate, liquid additional pressure, liquid density, liquid viscosity, etc. Meanwhile, I observed the spray effect of water model apparatus under different conditions by combining photographing technique of PIV apparatus and digital image processing technique. Finally, we observed concentration field and velocity field inside the apparatus by the method of numerical simulation. I got the following conclusions.1. At given structural parameters of reaction apparatus, liquid quantity carried is mainly affected by two aspects. One is gas flow, and the other is additional pressure of liquid inlet. During the experiment, two kinds of forces interact with each other and affect the liquid intake volume. The ratio of 10 to 1 is suitable for that of larger diameter to smaller diameter of jet injection device. It cannot be too small. Otherwise it will affect the liquid quantity carried. We also get the empirical formula: V=16719P0.7895Q0.3846ρ0.1741μ-0.9636d2.1944n-0.86112. I confirmed the studying method of atomization effect based on combining PIV technique and digital image processing technique. And I proved again the factors that influence the liquid quantity carried. At the same time, I observed the effect of atomization under different conditions. There are mainly two factors that affect droplet atomization. On one hand, the backflow of diffusion section of jet injection device promotes the collision of mixed gas and liquid. On the other hand, the liquid quantity carried has an effect.3. We got the following results by the numerical simulation of jet reactor. The fluid reached a stable and equilibrium velocity near the central position in the front section of jet injection device in the reactor. In the diameter variation position in the rear section of jet injection device, the fluid can be formed into closed circulation, and backflow occurs in the outlet position, leading to a good effect of atomization and the mixture of gas and liquid.
