Innovative Application Of The Deconstruction Modeling Approach In The Design Of The Asymmetric Women’s Clothing

With the rapid improvement of living standard and the taste of culture, personal demands have received an increasing attention. As a brand-new thinking theory, deconstructivism has formed its own special design aesthetic, which is playing an important role in the traditional clothing design. At the same time, enterprises and stylists come to pay close attention to deconstruction application in women’s garment model designing, and the asymmetric women’s clothing model design as an unusual structure is applied in clothing design increasingly common.In this paper, by exploiting some significant concepts and properties of deconstruction in asymmetric women’s garment model designing, the typical characteristics of deconstructivism is demonstrated. In order to further explore the methods and principles based on structure analysis, the paper compares various styles applied deconstructivism in different areas, like Japan, British and Northern Europe, and classifies their expression forms into four types according to structures, materials and color patterns systematically. The wide specific applications are demonstrated in this paper, which provide the theory basis of asymmetric women’s garment model designing using deconstruction. Furthermore, in order to put the new theory into practice, a series of women’s garments using deconstruction concept has been designed in graduation project. To a great extend, the designing experiments proves its feasibility and shows good performance. At last, we summarize the results and give the further research plan based on the theory research, analysis of practical cases and personal practice.
