In recent years, the production capacity of polypropylene increased rapidly with the increases of the demand of polypropylene market. However, domestic polypropylene markets, the impact of the low rice from the Midle East product and the irrational product structures. Additiongally, the traditiongal petroleum chemical industy is also facing with the unprecedented challenges. As the oil and gas ard belong to the nonrenewable resources, continuous mining will causes the decline of reserves and the shortage of the ra materials. This will inevitably causes the increase of price and will lead to decline the processing benefit of the oil and the gas.In the light of the adjustment of industrial structure fo Yanchang prtroleum group and the urgent request of the shortage of the propylene resource, the paper investigate the reasons that causes high comsumption of propylene of polypropylene device from Yanan refinery 100kt/a polypropylene unit. The influence factors, such as the jam frequency of Z203, unstable operating coditiong of PK301,unreasonable design of E301, poor cooling effect, big emission of propylene rusult from the opening or stopping of the device, high amount emission of desalted waterfrom electrolytic hydrogen system, flash lines is easy to cause the material hanging block, and the abnormal polymerization result from the tocicant of the raw material propylene were studied. Aitionally, the mesures for reducing propylene consumption for the factors were investigated. The results indicate that the optimization measures is confidently reduce thecosumption of propylene for the polypropylene device of Yanan refinery factroy form Yanchang prtroleum.This study has practical significance in the light of reucing propylene comsumption and the prosessing cost, as well as realization the transformation of Yanan refinery fatory from chemical industry strategy and product to value-added chemical industry. This work has guiding signficance and reference value to the optimization of the desing and operation of the design and operation of the similar polypropylene device.
