The 11 ten thousand tons/year polypropylene equipment, which belongs to Langang company, Lanzhou petrochemical company, petrochina company limited, did not get polymerization twice at March and May, 2006. The reason that could not get polymerization was very complicated and difficult to seek because the production always with the same raw material and catalyst, and the engineering used with little change. The aim of this research was seeking the reason from the nature of crude oil, the solvents used in the process, the kind of impurities and the kinds of conditions used in the production. The co-factor how to influence the product was expatiated from different angles. At last, the main reason affected the polymerization were found that was the element S with different form and the concentration of Dimethyl disulfide(DMDS) could influence the polymerization directly.
