As the China gradually stepped into industry 4.0, the CNC has been widely used by different manufacturers. The tool of presetting measuring machine(TPMM) was the most important role in CNC and measured the cutter point position, cutter angels and radius parameters.At present, the domestic TPMM were mostly based on optical projector, it had same defects of low efficiency and low precision and cannot meet the requirements of modern mechanical fabrication industry. The TPMM based on computer visual detection and digital image processing was a high precision measuring instrument which gathered machinery, optics and computer, meanwhile, it could transferred the cuter parameter to the CNC database and featured high speed, better precision and high degree of automation.The main research works about TPMM are listed as follows:(1) The mechanical system, the vision system, hardware interface and software system are designed and implemented, the overall test of TPMM was performed, and the error source of all kind are analyzed.(2) This thesis investigates deeply into digital image processing. Based on the Sobel and Orthogonal Polynomial Square fitting, a novel sub.pixel edge detection algorithm was proposed, it featured better precision and stability.(3) This thesis put forwards a new focusing evaluation function systematically. The relationship between functional sensitivity and light, objective spatial frequency and focal spot size is analyzed theoretically and confirmed in experiment.(4) A new gridded.parallel.line calibrating method was investigated based on CCD sub.pixel technique and auto focusing technique, both horizontal and vertical pixel equivalent can be directly obtained. The method was easy and accurate and had satisfactory repeat.ability.(5)The software system was accomplished by VC++6.0 on windows OS, it could realize manual detection or auto measurement and support CNC database.
