According to the automatic control theory, detection technology, optimal control technology, field bus network communication technology as a guide. Based on the actual production data.Advanced control technology on the basis of Adcon’s robust multivariable predictive control technology is utilized to optimize the control system of a 60×104 tons gas separation plants. Combine with the actual situation of this gas separation plants andintelligent sortware measurement technology, and point out the advanced control scheme for the system of rectifying tower system.In this work, normal operation scheme of each tower, the circuit state of control systems and the entire process target were analyzed respectively, which provided support for the control strategy of advanced process control. Moreover, based on robust multivariable predictive control technology and the status quo of 60×104 tons of gas separation unit, make sure the design range about depropanizer, propylene rectification tower and isobutylene tower advanced controller, analysis of the operating variables,disturbance variables and controlled variables, in order to simplify the design of advanced control system. Futhermore, the hardware and software platform of advanced control system for the gas separation plant were introduced. Design method of advanced controller was illustrated by the one of the propylene tower. Finally, results of the implementation of the advanced control system were studied.After implementation of the advanced control system, improve the gas plants more stable and automatic for each unit, each key process indicators achieve to automatic control, restrain some related interference factors, the average fluctuation amplitude is reduced by more than 30%, the propylene quality average reached 99.8%, operation rate reached more than 90%, greatly reduce the labor intensity of operators.
