With the development of China’s oil refining industry, the problem of wastewater treatment in refinery industry were concerned. The oil refining industry wastewater is difficult to deal with for large displacement, harmful and difficult to handle. The wastewater treatment capacity of Yanan petroleum chemical plant is 400t/h, and its low concentration sewage treatment capacity is about 200t/h. At present, the system has the problem of low resistance to nitrogen and sulfur impact load. Therefore, the transformation process of "A/O+MBBR" was adopted to improve the efficiency of wastewater treatment.The process of improvemen had good effect. The result showed:(1) the COD of the water between 32~51 mg/L, the average effluent COD value was 41 mg/L, and the average removal rate of COD was 90.07%;(2) The concentration of ammonia nitrogen in the water was between 1.4~1.6mg/L, the average ammonia nitrogen concentration in the effluent was 1.48mg/L, the average removal rate was 96.25%;(3) The concentration of organic in the water was between 1.6~1.9mg/L, the average organic concentration in the effluent was 1.74mg/L, the average removal rate was 96.07%. The technological process of "A/O+MBBR" was feasible to dispose the wastewater of Yanan petrochemical plant. After the transformation, the efficiency of the wastewater treatment and the stability of the system were improved, the effluent quality meeted the design standard, while the original processing equipment structure without changing.
