Some places on the garments and household textiles contacted with human body are prone to yellowing, which is closely related to the accumulation of sebum components on textiles. Unsaturated sebum oil on textiles is difficult to be removed by washing process, and the residual sebum components on textiles will produce chromophore during autoxidation, leading to fabric yellowing. In order to improve the aesthetics and service life of textiles by inhibiting or slowing down textile aging and yellowing reaction of soiled textiles, the idea of the food industry using antioxidant as a food additive to slow down the oxidative rancidity and browning of high- fat food is used as reference in this study. Several representative antioxidants were selected and the preferred antioxidant clathrate was prepared. On basis of this research, new textile care detergents were developed, and the textile after washing shows anti-yellowing property. The research is divided into the following three parts:(1) The aging and yellowing properties of s ebum-soiled cotton fabrics were investigated. Humidity C hamber and Xenon Test Chamber were used to imitate various aging environment, DataColor and DigiEye color image processing system were used to study the effects of temperature, humidity and light intensity on yellowing properties of sebum-soiled textiles. And the solid and aging methods of sebum-soiled fabrics were explored. The results showed that, with increase in the temperature, humidity and light intensity of the aging environment, the yellowing level of sebum-soiled fabrics increased. In the same aging environment, oleic acid, squalane, cottonseed oil and olive oil soiled cotton fabrics yellowing seriously. On this basis, two methodologies were developed to prepare a yellow dingy fabric samples on cotton, and these two methodologies were applicable to aging mechanism research of soiled textile and detergent decontamination test respectively.(2) The colorimetric method was used to analysize antioxidant activities of antioxidants and the chemical changes of BHT-contained oily soil were studied by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), which help to ascertaining the anti- yellowing mechanism of antioxidant. The results showed that antioxidants could delay the oxidation reaction of sebum and reduce the aging and yellowing of oily soils. Different antioxidants showed different antioxidant activities in various oil systems. BHT showed good antioxidant activities and it would not stain fabric, so that BHT is recommend to add to textile care products. The aging product of squalene, oleic acid, cottonseed oil and olive oil contained contained hydroxyl group and carbonyl group, while BHT can effectively suppress the generation of these groups.(3) The ultrasonic cleaner and magnetic stirrer were used to control the preparation conditions of BHT clathrate separately. The colorimetric method was used to analysis the embedding rate of BHT clathrate. And the anti- yellowing effect of textile care products containing antioxidants was characterized by detergent decontamination test. The results showed that, the preferred preparation condition of BHT clathrate is ultrasonic vibration at 60 ℃, 30 min, core/wall ratio 1:7. And the developed antioxidant containing textile care products are: 1) Spray : 0.05% BHT, 0.05% vanilla ethanol; 2) Detergent: 14% BHT-β-cyclodextrin was add to the standard detergents to prepare a new product. The product was easy to prepare and use, and can delay the oxidation reaction of oil and extend the service life of textiles.
