Chelating resins are the resins with functional groups which can form multiple coordinating bonds with metallic ions. Most of the conventional chelating resins are based on the hydrophobic matrix of polystyrene, which made them to be poorly hydrophilic, easily polluted by organic compounds and difficult to be recovered and reused. In order to overcome the shortcomings of the conventional chelating resins, two chelating resins based on the matrix of polyacrylates were synthesized, and their adsorption performance for heavy metal ions were investigated in this dissertation.1. An acrylic iminodiacetic acid chelating resin with the structure of half EDTA was synthesized by amination of poly(methyl acrylate)followed by carboxylmethylation, which is shorted as PMA-IDA resin.2. The adsorption and desorption experiment results of the PMA-IDA resin for Cu2+ showed that the resin could adsorb Cu2+ from aqueous solution effectively(the saturated adsorption capacity amounted to 3.006mmol/g at room temperature with an initial concentration of 0.5 mol/L);the adsorption and desorption rate were fast; the adsorbed Cu2+ could be desorbed effectively(up to 100%); the regenerating capacity of the resin was high(about 96%). Furthermore, adsorption performance of the PMA-IDA resin and the polystyrene imine iminodiacetic acid chelatingresin which is shorted as PS-IDA resin for Cu2+ in puerarin was tested. The results showed that the Cu2+ removal percentage of PMA-IDA resin was up to 95%, and the resin adsorb puerarin hardly. Adsorption properties of the PMA-IDA resin for Cu2+, Ni2+ and Pb2+ were compared, and the results showed that the adsorption effect for Cu2+ was the best.3. An acrylic mercapto chelating resin was synthesized by poly glycidyl methacrylate resin followed by reaction with NaSH, which is shorted as PMA-SH resin.4. The adsorption and desorption experiment results of the PMA-SH resin for Hg2+ showed that the resin could adsorb Hg2+ from aqueous solution effectively(the saturated adsorption capacity amounted to 1.148mmol/g at room temperature with an initial concentration of 0.045 mol/L);the adsorption and desorption rate were fast; the adsorbed Hg2+ could be desorbed effectively(up to 95%); the regenerating capacity of the resin was high(about 90%).
