| At present, Chinese Gold Group Jiapigou Mining has two tailing dams at Wudaocha. The No. 1 tailing was designed in 1973, completed and put into use in 1976. And now its catchment area is 1.56 km2 after several modification works. The maximum length of channel is 2.15 km, and average longitudinal gradient is 0.137. The ore of No. 1 tailings been mining for a number of years and it will be exhausted in two years basing on the information collection of field perambulation. The No. 2 tailings dam was built in 2005 with higher content of gold. According to the analysis, it is with the grade of 0.83g/t. So The Huadian Jinhui tailings Development Co. Ltd was invested by Chinese Gold Group Jiapigou Mining Limited for comprehensive utilization of tailing at wudaocha. In order to meet the original concentrator for the end of service life of No. 2 tailings dam, Environmental impact assessment of No. 1 tailings(located in the southeast side of No. 1 tailings of 1020m) was conducted. Basing on the spot investigation, the phenomenon of partial collapse of the early No. 1 tailings dam near the middle has been found, and also the drainage facilities has been damaged which can’t meet the requirement. Therefor, the aim of this project was to strengthen the existing dam and reconstruct crainage facilities. So it can completely solve the problem of no management after the shutting down of tailings waste and relieve the threat of the potential of pollution of the surrounding environment especially of surface water pollution and the collapse which threats to the lives and property of residents around. At the same time some activities, such as the trees planting on the surface of tailings, can be done to create a good environment for the surrounding residents living and working in peace. No tailings seepage water was relished into the water body and no land was developed. It is about 280 m from this project to MiaoLingTun. To reduce the risk of ecological environment destruction, it also takes some actions to meet relevant national standards requirements. So the surrounding environment can be little effected. |
