Gravure printing technology is widely used in packing of the products from all walks of life, it is an important part in the field of printing at home and aboard. Automatic register control system as the core of gravurt printing machine is the most important function to guarantee high quality printing.In this paper, after detailed analysis on the working principles of the register control system, in view of the register control system with the characteristics of uncertainty, large delay, the volatility, big overshoot and so on, it has studied respectively three kinds of control algorithm which are PID control based on BP neural network, fuzzy PID control and improved fuzzy PID control based on Smith estimator, then simulation study is performed on the control system. Simulation experiments show that the system response of PID controller based on BP neural network alters little affected by parameters change of controlled objec, but its dynamic response curves can’t satisfy the requirement of the accuracy of control system because of big overshoot and long time to stable. The system dynamic response of the fuzzy PID controller performs well, which can quickly restore stable state after interference, but it still can’t adapt to this kind of situation when delay paramenter of the object changes badly. Considering greatly influenced by delay parameter, so improved Smith estimator is used in a feedback loop of the Fuzzy PID controller to offset the change of delay parameter. Through the simulation results, it shows that improved fuzzy PID controller based on Smith estimator can adapt to the change of delay parameter and other parameters.In this paper, CAN bus is adopted to realize the communication between various register control unit and the upper machine, because of its characteristics with flexible communication, high reliability, etc. Register control unit adopts STM32F407 chip, which has the basic extention CAN peripherals, supporting 2.0A and B CAN protocol. This paper designes the CAN bus communication interface circuit and completes the design of CAN bus communication program, and realizes the functions of sending standard data frame, interrupt receiving, interrupt error management and so on. At the same time, a good foundation of communication to achieve furtherly unit coordinated control between each control unit has been formed. Based on completing the main body of design work in register control system of gravurt pringting machine, it studies the application encryption method of ARM embedded system, and realizing the encryption based on identity edentification at last.
